SQL Server / business project database

I

I'm starting to explore Access and it's possibilities. I
love what I see so far. I went to create a project
database and it asked me for an SQL Server. I have a vague
idea that I would need to purchase this extra if I wanted
to experiment with SQL. I have the server/lab. Just not
the SQL software. Unless it's somehow included with
Office2000

Also, I want to design a business and wish to use a
database that is tailored to managing a project. It might
be that I need to design it from scratch, but I see a
wizard/template that references "project". Can someone
give me a little push in the right direction? I hope i've
included enough info.

Thanks

There is a version of SQL Server called MSDE on the Office 2000 CD. It
doesn't get installed by default, even if you choose a 'complete' install
when installing Office. You'll need to install it manually. I don't have
Office 2000 CDs to hand, but you should find a folder on one of them called,
I think, MSDE, with the files required to install MSDE on your PC.

I'm not sure I understood the second question. But if your work involves
project management, you may want to check out Microsoft Project, if you
haven't done so already. I don't use it myself, but if I remember correctly
I believe it has some level of built-in integration with Access.
