SQL Server Error when attempting to backup Enterprise Global

After I successfully connect via Windows Authentication and upon
attempt to backup Enterprise Global, The client hangs and then presents
the following error:

Connect failed:
SQLState: '01000'
SQL Server Error: 1909
[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][DBNETLIB]ConnectionOpen(Connect()).
Connection failed:
SQLState: 08001
SQL Server Error: 17
[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][DBNETLIB]SQLServer does not exist
or access denied.

Any ideas? Any help would be appreciated
