SQL Server licensing

Ryan

I'm going to help set up a system using the Small Scale Deployment
instructions in the "Microsoft Office Project Server 2003 Installation
guide" (page 13). Do I need to buy a SQL license for every user wishing to
access Project using PWA and/or Project Pro? I'm kind of new to SQL Server
but will have some help from others with more experience in that field.
Thanks for any help.

Ryan,

I believe that you do need a separate license for each user. You should call microsoft directly and inquire (1-800-426-9400). You actually need a Windows Server CAL, SQL CAL, and PWA CAL. Project Pro. comes with a PWA CAL so that might help. Also SQL can be purchased with a per processor license. This mean unlimited users may access it but you have to pay per processor on your SQL server. I would call MS to get all the details.

Thanks for the clarification. This is what I thought. I will contact
Microsoft with further inquiries.
