SQL sever

I have loaded on my desktop, the SQL server from the
Access disc to begin developing an Access project. Now
whenever I start the server to work on my project, it
brings up my internet connect screen. Then when I try to
run my project it does not run because it can't find the
server. What did I do wrong?
