Squigglies when deselecting?

I've noticed lately that when I deselect text boxes, it leaves a weird
squiggly line around the text box. When I switch to another slide and
switch back it's gone, so obviously it's screen corruption.

Anyone else seen this?

Is there a certain zoom setting where this doesn't happen? or some
other way I can prevent it?

Have you installed the service releases? That might fix this.

I think so.. PowerPoint shows itself as being Service Release 1.

I notice that when I click away from a textbox it doesn't do it, but
when I hit escape twice they show up. Does it do that for you?

I believe this is a known problem with ppt that has been around for several
releases. When you select an object and then select another object (or
deselect that object), sometimes there are, as you call them squiggles left
behind where the select box was. MS calls them "artifacts" but offers no
solution. As you note, if you go to another slide and then come back, these
artifacts are gone.
