Greetings all,
When I install Office 2k Pro on workstations at my place of business, I
always install the SR1a patch, then the SP3 update. I do this as a domain
administrator. When a user logs on and tries to run an Office app, SR1a
setup starts up and fails with error 1706. The only cure for this seems to
be to elevate the user to administrator, insert the Office CD, start an
Office app and let setup do it's thing. After that, I remove the user from
the admin group and all is well.
Has anyone else experienced this behavior, and if so, is there a less time
consuming fix?
Thanks in advance,
Chad Pfeiffer
