standard practice in BCM

the problem with BCM for a newby is how do i start entering data in a format
that is consistent and logical - there must be some "best practice", and if
you don't do that , in my experience, you wind up with a messy database that
can be hard to maintain and correct.
what i would like are some very simple, clear directions for getting started
setup an account only if
