Standby in Excel

Lillian

Everytime I want to get from one sheet to the next, I hit
Control and Page Down at the same time. But instead of it
going to the next sheet, my computer switches to Standby
mode. Any idea how to disable this?

Hi Lillian,
That is not normal in Windows or Excel that I'm aware of.
What make and model computer is it?
Sounds like a BIOS setting if anything.

Hi jaf!

More like a keyboard setting with a pre-programmed / programmable
hotkey.

It certainly isn't Excel or normal Windows behaviour.

From someone who has no ideas at all...

Do you use a laptop. Sometimes those laptops have keys that server multiple
purposes. Maybe there's a special function (Fn) key stuck when you click.

For awhile some vendors offered programmable keyboards. Any chance you have one
of those that's been programmed to do this?

And to piggyback on jaf's answer, can you start up your pc, go into the BIOS
setup and disable standby power settings? (might not be an option if you like
that, though.)
