Start a presentation from a looped intro?

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) Processor: Power PC I want to run a show that opens with a looped sequence of 4 slides whilst the audience settles down, then when I'm ready, just click Esc or whatever to start into a conventional PPT presentation. Anybody know a way to do this?

This tutorial was written with Windows in mind, but I think many of the
techniques will work in the Mac version as well:
