Start remaining work at status date

Jim

I thought I had this all figured out, but maybe not.

I want all remaining work to timephase forward of the
status date.

How is this achieved?

Thanks.

Hi Jim,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

Try Tools/Tracking/Update Project... and select to reschedule uncompleted
work to start after the status date.

Next time, try posting on the project newsgroup, as this one is closing
down! Please see FAQ Item: 24. Project Newsgroups. FAQs, companion
products and other useful Project information can be seen at this web
address: http://www.mvps.org/project/.

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on:)

I did that and it worked for all tasks except one.
On that task, it shows actual duration is equal to the
remaining duration, but the duration itself is longer (the
task is started and 50% complete).
Can you tell me what I am doing wrong on that task?

What are those radial buttons in the options:calculation
that relate to "bring start of remaining parts forward to
status date" for?

Thanks

Hi Jim,

I don't understand! If the actual duration = the remaining duration, then
Project is corrent in stating it is 50% Complete. what's the problem?

Sorry, I now see what actual duration is. In Primavera I
used to create formulas to create actual durations because
that program handles "duration" differently.

But that does not address the situation where when I
select Tools:Tracking:project Update:Begin all remaining
work at [pick a date] all the other tasks except this one
has the remaining work moved to the begin at the date
selected but this one task still does not. Instead on this
task it spreads evenly across the task duration.

Thanks

Hi Jim,

Don't know *.)

Try copying a few tasks either side including this one to a new project and
see if the same happens. If so, you can email it to me and I'll have a
look.
