Starting Outlook

I have been using Outlook 2003 for some time now. Recently it started doing
something strange. When I close Outlook and then try to re-enter it will not
respond. Yet, if I reset the system and then try, it goes right in. There's
got to be a better fix than having to restart the system each time. Wassup?

Something is preventing Outlook from closing properly and keeps the
outlook.exe process running.
