Starting Powerpoint clears my clipboard. : (

I have a template I've created using Powerpoint to print envelopes.

I copy the address.
I start Powerpoint.
And try to paste the address.

The problem is that Powerpoint somehow clears the clipboard and I can't
paste what I wanted to paste.

I then have to go back and copy the same address.

Erm... I know it's only a small thing.
But... it's definitely a bug in Powerpoint.
How can I solve my problem?

Thanks.

Given that I ask questions in this very newsgroup I'm certainly not an
expert, but have a thought. Where are you copying the address from? I'm
guessing it's Excel. I've noticed that when you copy something from Excel,
if you edit another cell or, sometimes, change applications, the data you've
copied is not there to paste. Essentially, the clipboard has been cleared.
This is an issue in Excel, so the bug may not be in PowerPoint. (Whether
this is a feature or a bug in Excel is left for a different newsgroup!)

Yep, I know this doesn't solve your problem (sorry), but it's one more thing
to look at.

PowerPoint itself doesn't clear the clipboard, but some addins may.
Look for addins that use unique, customized buttons on toolbars and try
disabling them.

Or ... probably the simpler solution ... start PowerPoint first, copy the
address, switch back to PPT and paste.
