Starting Word with template switch gives corrupt document error

J

J.Enevoldsen

I can open Word normally and choose the template, but when I try to make a
shortcut with a switch to always start with that template, I get:
"Word was unable to read this document. It may be corrupt."
and suggestions about repairing the file.

Since the template has a space in its name, I enclosed it in quotes. I tried
it with and without the full pathname to the template.

What am I overlooking?

Thanks!

Make sure you don't have a space between the /t switch and the template name
(and that the switch is outside the quotes).
