startup with custom powerpoint slide

Does anyone know if it is possible to configure or set Powerpoint 2003 to
startup with a custom slide template anytime Powerpoint is loaded?

If its possible, how would this be done?

Either hover over the template in the available for use section and choose
"use for all new presentations" or save your custom template as a design
template called blank
