Startup Without New Presentation

Running PPT 2003. I remember changing some option a long time ago so a
new presentation would be created each time I start PPT.

I would like to change back... but don't remember how. Where do I set
the option NOT to start a NEW presentation every time I open PPT.

Getting old... Thanks.

There used to be a "Startup Dialog" checkbox in the "View" tab of Options
dialog box ("Tools" | "Options..." menu item) till PowerPoint 2000. Starting
PowerPoint 2002 (XP), this option was removed because of the new task pane
design.

Does that mean I will always have a new presentation created when I
start PPT?

It seems so... in any case, what purpose would a blank PowerPoint screen
without a blank presentation serve? As such when there is this blank
presentation and you open an existing presentation file, the blank one
disappears.

Actually, a blank PPT presentation is not needed. I find (in 2003) that
if I start PPT, then open an existing presentation, the blank
presentation remains minimized on my system. Surely that uses
resources.

I'd like to be able to choose how I work on my system.

The /c switch does eliminate the 'new' presentation problem. BUT, it
also eliminates the startup task pane.

Can I do one without the other (I still want the task pane).?

Thanks.
BoomerM3,

You have to add switch /c at the end of your desktop shortcut to open
PowerPoint...

The result being: "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office
2003\OFFICE11\POWERPNT.EXE" /c

(I still want the task pane).?

Once PowerPoint is open... Ctrl+F1

;-)

Sorry, I don't know more options...
