stationery works fine in W2k, not in XP

I have a big, big problem. Situation: I create stationery for people. I send them the stationery so they can save it on their machines. All works fine on 98/W2K, but not on XP. What happens is this:

They are creating email in Outlook and the source looks like this (when checked):
BODY style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #b3b3d5" background=logo.jpg leftMargin=5
topMargin=5

When saving/sending that they'll get:
BODY style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #b3b3d5"
background=cid:234280915@30082004-12A8 leftMargin=5 topMargin=5

So the image is being converted to a 'cid' version! As it should.

I then receive an email, and all is well when they send it from a W98/2K machine. But...
When I receive email from one of the XP'ers, the source will be:
BODY style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #93c1d0" leftMargin=5
background=logo.jpg topMargin=5

And this will STAY that way. So if the image 'logo.jpg' is not on a recipient's machine, he will not see the background.
One person has both a W2K as a XP machine. When she sends me an email from the W2K machine, all is well, but when she sends it from the XP machine, major bummer... :eek:(
Can someone please help me out???
