status bar disappeared

[Scooter]

The status bar at the bottom of the screen has disappeared from my computer.
I can make it reappear by going to View and the clicking status bar, but as
soon as I go to a new webpage, or hit forward or back, it disappears again.
It used to always be there, how can I make it stay permanent and not move?

that sounds like the internet explorer status bar, not Outlook's.
