Status Bar in Word 2007

The status bar at the bottom of my Word documents keeps disappearing and
reappearing. I have been using this program for a long time, and this has
never happened before.

How can I (1) get the status bar back, and (2) get it to stay put?

Hi Neole,

The status bar in Office 2007 is generally intended to always be there except when you're in Full Screen Reading View.

Is this only in certain documents or documents created from certain templates, or any specific action steps you use that result in
this happening?

Are you running any add-ins?
(Office Button=>Word Options=>Add-ins)

Do you have the Windows taskbar set to autohide? If so, it shouldn't cover the status bar, but it can happen :)

Hi Bob,

You're right. The status bar has always been there. That's why I don't
understand why it disappeared all of a sudden, just today. I use Print
Layout on all my documents. I use the normal template; there are no add-ins,
and the taskbar is not set to autohide.

What else could it be?

Hi Beth,

No, there is no Get Started tab. However, I did accidentally find out why
the Status Bar had disappeared. I clicked the Minimize button for some
reason (I can't remember why), and it just reappeared.

Thanks for your post.
