Status field

Hi,
I am working on PWA 2007 and with Project Professional 2007. When I am
working with project professional, and I look at the task list, I can
find a column named "Status" where the task status is displayed.
Anyway, I cannot find this column in any view on project Web access. I
have also tried to build a new view, but this column is not included
in the dropdown select of any view type.
Anyone has an idea why? Is this column calculated "on the fly" from
project professional? Anyone knows how such a column could be
calculated/displayed also on project web access?
BTW, I am trying to display this attribute in the "my tasks" view and
in the project view.
Thank you very much for your help.

This is one of the field which is not available in PWA. You might have to
create a custom enterprise field.

Hi Hari,
thank you for the very quick reply. I have a couple of others
questions, maybe you can give me a tip.
Is there a reference somewhere, that describes how the value of the
status field is calculated in project professional?
If I create a custom enterprise field calculated from the value for
example of task due date and actual date, how will the update process
work? I mean typically, if we have for example two stati, "due today"
and "overdue" for the tasks status, the users expect that the value of
the status should automatically change to overdue if the task is not
updated and as the time passes by.
What I do not know is if the calculated fields are updated every time
someone accesses the data (for example when I check the data through a
pwa view), or if the are just updated when I open/save/publish the
project?
Thank you very much again for the help.

Create a column in MS Project Professional with Status. Then click on the
Help in that column, which will give you hints on how to determine the status
of a project.
Hope this will help.
