Status Manager PS 2007

The person who first builds and saves a plan from scratch is the default
status manager for that task. This means any assignment updates come to him
for acceptance. If you happen to build a plan from an enterprise template
then whoever created the original template task will be the status manager
for that task (except summary tasks which strangely pick up the new plan
owner). You can change the status manager in any task view but you can only
do it one task at a time, you cannot do it globally. As you can imagine
changing a plan owner now becomes a major exercise. Neither the My Task view
nor any assignment view identifies the assignment owner; therefore it seems
quite likely that many updates will get lost in space, or get approved by
disinterested parties, if care is not taken.

As a general comment the issues around using My Task page and capturing
progress are quite scary. Are there any "mature" users out there operating
with a high level of comfort?
