Stencils not present when file loads

I have an org chart that is referenced/changed a couple
times a month. When I load the file, the stencils don't
appear. Instead I have to load those independently. I've
tried saving the file while the stencils are present but
that doesn't help. I can't find any option or feature
setting like "Load stencils with file." Anyone have an
idea. It's not a huge problem. Merely an annoyance.

Try saving it as a template. The stencils should return with the file

I used your idea of saving the file as a template along
with the process I described. I loaded the file, loaded
the stencil, saved the file as a template. I then exited
Visio (Visio 2002 Professional btw). Then I started Visio
and opened a template file, the file I'd just saved. I
then saved that file as a drawing. When I returned after a
close/exit, the drawing file loads with the stencil as it
should.

Very curious.
