step chart

is there a way to make a step chart/graph in either powerpoint, or excel if i
have to? i have data points, i just need the chart to be a step chart rather
than the typical line/scatter plot that connects points with straight lines.

Hi,

I'd suggest having a look at this example from Andy Pope. I'd do it in
Excel, unless you have Office 2007, in which case, PowerPoint will insert a
chart in Excel format.
