"sticky notes" -- erase stroke does not work

"scratch-out gesture" over the "ink stroke" does not erase as it should.
How do I fix this problem?

Hi Susan,

Actually, it may not be an Office program as I had thought, although it's
MS. It's Microsoft "Sticky Notes" program that came with my computer that I
just bought 2 days ago. Below is the text from the Help Menu in "Sticky
Notes" program--similar to Post-it:

Removing an ink stroke. An ink stroke is a continuous movement of the
tablet pen that starts when the pen touches the screen and ends when the pen
is lifted. You can easily remove an ink stroke from a written note by using
the scratch-out gesture.
What do you want to do? Make the scratch-out gesture available.
On the Tools menu, point to Options, and then tap Enable Scratch-out
Gesture.
Remove an ink stroke. Using the tablet pen, make the scratch-out gesture
over the ink stroke that you want to erase.
Tip: Be sure to make the scratch-out gesture quickly back-and-forth.

Thank you,
Tom D.

Ahh, good. If you don't get an answer here, why don't you go ahead and post
the question to one of the Tablet PC newsgroups, since I believe that
application is part of the stuff that comes standard with the Tablet PC
operating system. There may be more people who can provide you input or
assistance in that arena.
