Still a problem

I get the same "patch package..." messages when I try and
remove Office from a restored Windows XP.

It appears to think there is an installation to complete.

I seem to be getting examples of the following
application errors in event viewer :

Detection of product '{91E30409-6000-11D3-8CFE-
0150048383C9}', feature 'EXCELFiles' failed during
request for component '{A2B280D4-20FB-4720-99F7-

failed. The resource 'C:\Program Files\Microsoft

It appears the restore has partially restored Office
files, thus leaving Office in a mess.

How can I remove Office Pro Edition 2003, when it wont
let me use the Windows XP tools, so that I can re-install?
