Does anybody know if there are any free downloadable stock
quotes out there somewhere? Thanks in advance.

Mike,

See my response to the message "stock/share price linked to web?"

Here's the text of the Excel stock query IQY:

WEB
1
http://moneycentral.msn.com/investor/external/excel/quotes.asp?SYMBOL=["QUOTE","Enter
stock, fund or other MSN

MoneyCentral Investor symbols separated by commas."]

Selection=EntirePage
Formatting=All
PreFormattedTextToColumns=True
ConsecutiveDelimitersAsOne=True
SingleBlockTextImport=False

Copy this text into a text editor and save it with an IQY extension. Then,
Open it in Excel, and it will take care of the rest.

If you mean historical prices, one approach is to use Yahoo. If you ask
Yahoo for a stock quote it will give you today's quote along with some other
stuff. Down the left edge of the screen you'll see "historical prices" for
that same stock. Click on that and it will allow you to specify the range of
dates you want the data for.

At the end of the exercise, down near the bottom of the screen it will allow
you to specify "Download to Spreadsheet" which is an Excel format for the
data -- or you can get comma delimited if that's what you want.
