Stop automatic hyperlinks

I'm a new Mac excel user. I'm writing up a list and every time I type
an email (and sometimes a po box) excel automatically hyperlinks it.
I've been disabling the hyperlinks individually as I go, but that
sucks. How do I stop excel from hyperlinking what I don't want
hyperlinked?
