stop folder from publishing

Is there a way to set a folder and its contents so that it will not be
published with the site?

WinXP
FP2003

I have the same need and dont think it is presently possible with either FP
2002 ort FP 2003. I just mark each file in that folder to not publish. This
still publishes the "empty" folder tho and takes the extra time of
selecting all the files in the folder. This is a Nice feature request for
future versions!

Hi,
I have never knowingly used or made a subweb. How would I go about doing
that? - Or do you know of a good place for me to learn the ins-and-outs of
subwebs?

In FP, Select the folder, then right click and select convert to web. Then when publishing do not
include subwebs.

Yes, it also works in 2003.

Jimco.com has a Add-In called Selective Publish which allows you to select
the entire folder to not publish - instead of having to select alllllll the
files individually. It's free and works great in FP 2002 (i dont have fp2003
so don't know about that)

I would, if you have the same folder on the remote server already.

Do you have to create the sub-web first, while online with server? I've only done this a couple of
times on unix servers.

Can it work from server to local? - to keep the linux stats files from
publishing down to local copy...or does it only work on the local side?

| Yes, it also works in 2003.

Permissions in general do not publish between servers/machines.
