Stop Frontpage from formatting Hyperlink

O

OZO

When inserting a hyperlink via the insert hyperlink dialogue box, somehow
frontpage converts the hyperlink and goes to a slightly different address
from the inserted hyperlink. Yet when I copy and paste the link straight into
my browser goes to the correct address.
Can some one please explain how this can be corrected via the codeing if
required.
Any suggestions whould be very appreciated.

I have noticed that when there is a firewall in place it doesn't work yet if
the firewall is turned off it works fine.

the website is www.standbystayz.com/test.hm and the only link (accom more
than 21 days) the header should read standbystayz not rates2go. Please review
the page and provide feedback.

I hope this helps with your request "please give example"
Thanx for your help

Did you publish this page? It doesn't exist when we click the link.

This page -

http://www.standbystayz.com/test.htm

Now what? I see two links on that page, one of which is "accommodation more
than 20 days".

What header are you talking about?

The header should show the standbystayz logo and NOT rates2go logo in the top
left corner of the page. Hope this helps.

Do you have a firewall on your computer? I think the The rates2go logo shows
on users who have a firewall installed and running. If the firewall is off or
doesn't exist the link works perfect like you say you a accessing. Do you
have any suggestions to prevent this from occurring for users who have
firewalls running please.

Thanks for your assistance

No. No firewall.

I couldn't imagine that this is what is making a difference, so I have no
idea.

When the page loads it shows a rates2go URL - if this is typed in by
hand, (or cut and paste or from a shortcut such as Favourites) then the
page loaded is completely different and comes from Rates2go. The page
MUST be accessed from your site - If I were interested in this product,
I would bookmark the rates2go page, not your page, and then be very
surprised by the change in name and look for another web site - can't
trust sites that change their names overnight.

Thank you for the feedback.

Is there anyway the page can be coded to show standbystayz.com in the URL so
that visitors capture our website and not the affilliate as a favourite, also
there is an extra id number attached in the hyperlink address, you may be
able to view it in the source code of the page on the site.

I am using CA suite for AV and Firewall and I'm sure many potential visitors
would be in the same boat. I am sure it is the firewall that is preventing
the link from displaying the correct standbystayz banner rather than the
affiliate host banner. Do you know of any workaround in the coding for the
hyperlink to work the same in all different cases.
Thanx

Is your browser or firewall blocking cookies? I have noticed that
rates2go saves a cookie containing your affiliate ID. If cookies are
blocked, the id is not carried over to subsequent pages on rates2go,
hence the banner changes.
