STOP MICROSOFT OFFICE FROM TAKING OVER MY JUNO

I bought a compaq notebook PC with Windows XP
I loaded my JUNO on the PC, & It performed well.
I started using Microsoft works word processor
instead of my DoS based word processors,
and now your Microsoft Office is taking over my
JUNO, stopping me from reading my E-mail, saying
there is an open dialog box. I ALWAYS try to shut down
ALL programs prior to shutting the PC down.
STOP MICROSOFT OFFICE 2003 FROM TAKING OVER MY JUNO!
