stopping music files

I am inserting icons for several music examples on one slide. They are set to play when clicked. Problem is -- they continue to play while I'm trying to get another piece going (without changing slide). How can I program a stop music for each piece/icon?

Hi,

What format are the music files? If you can get them as
wav files, they'll automatically stop when a new wav file
starts to play. MIDI files and MPG files will play over
each other. I was able to stop them by pressing the ESC
key. I tried adding a "stop previous sound" action
button, but it only stops WAV files from playing.

If you are using PowerPoint 2002 or 2003, you can take advantage of the
"trigger" feature for custom animations to create buttons which will play,
pause or stop your sounds.
