Straight quotes in bullet/number lists

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) Processor: Intel Since installing Snow Leopard, all bullets/numbers are followed by straight quotes. (This is happening in both Word 2004 and 2008.) Have tried changing fonts, changing bullet type, defining new bullet style - nothing has helped. Any thoughts?

Hi Josie:

I suspect it IS the style that is doing this.

Go in through Format>Style>... Select the style in use and
Format>Modify>Numbering... Select the number format or bullet format in use
and Customise... You will find the quote as part of the "Number format".

Post back if you need the full description.

Cheers

Appreciate the suggestion.

I tried modifying the style before I posted, but just did it again in case I missed something. Tried different fonts and bullet types, but it didn't fix the problem.

Any other ideas?

Solved the problem by removing all but system fonts, so obviously Snow Leopard was not happy with some of my fonts. I eliminated all Postscript 1 fonts and most of the rest of my extensive library, but at least I can get a clean bullet!
