strange behavior creating Analyzer view

D

dave

I can create an OLAP cube, but when I try to make an
analyzer view, I can only add totals, but no diminsions.
I can save the view and my users can see it and they too
can add totals, but no diminsions.

When I try to drag and drop a diminsion, like TIME, my
mouse cursor changes to a circle with a line through it.

Based on other posts here, I am thinking it is an
authentication problem.

I have not migrated the repository, but I have gone into
the directory and allowed EVERYONE full control to the
entire MS Analysis server directory.

Any help will be greatly appreciated. Many
thanks.....dave

Dave:

The behavior you're describing indicates a problem with the Office Web
Components

In order for these to work correctly, you must have a qualifying Office
application installed when you download these for the first time. (This
happens automatically when you hit a page that requires them) If you
download these when you don't have a qualifying Office application, you get
a runtime version that allows you to see, but not drag and drop everything.
Try uninstalling these from your workstation and hit the page again.

I am having a similar problem (being able to add totals but not dimensions)
and I have MSP Pro 2003 installed on the workstation. I am running a trial
version of Project server 2003 and have created/published some projects and
resources assignments etc. Is it possible that the cube is looking for some
data that I may not have entered? I am looking for a basic analysis (resource
loading vs time for all projects) and the base data (resource assignment to
scheduled tasks) is already there.

Any ideas?
