strange behavior when publishing

Jeff Watts-Roy

I just moved a large FP web to a new host. I used FTP to do this. After it
was moved I checked the site and everything was laid-out correctly and
functional--except my DB connection string. I downloaded a file using FTP,
made a change to the DB connection string and uploaded it back to the site.
I hit refresh on the browser and noticed my layout themes failed--the site
is in a shambles. Explanation as to why I used FTP--I was somewhere where I
didn't have FP installed but had FTP. Now the site is hosed and even though
I open it up in FP2003, I cannot restore the original layout without doing a
bulk copy of the entire original web from my old host. HELP!!!!
Thanks in advance,
Jeff W-R

If the host has FP server extensions installed, and you used FTP, the
extensions are corrupted. You must http publish to a server that has
extensions installed.

You need to contact your host to repair the extensions, or reinstall them.
