Strange bullet style

Steve

Can anyone help - I have searched the forums with no success.

I am running Word 2002 on a WinXP machine. When I start a new bulleted
list the default bullet style has somehwo or other changed from the
usual round black dot to an upward pointing arrow.

When I look in Bullet properties, the arrow shaped bullet shows but it
cannot be reset - it is the default bullet and the reset box is greyed
out.

I have tried deleting Microsft Office and reinstalling, I have tried
deleting Normal.dot... all to no avail.

G'day (e-mail address removed) (Steve),

You must set all lists to run off a style with a unique list template
mate. So, learn everything you can about using styles FIRST, THEN
tackle lists.

From one Steve to another - thanks!

I must get my head around styles - I've ignored them up till now.

But I found an aswer to my problem. Somehow symbol.ttf had become
corrupt and / or deleted and the bullet font was reading of another
font for some reason. Anyway, via CP, I manged to delete the dud font
and reinstall a copy from another machine.

I had already tried to "fix" the fonts with PowerToys with no success.

Thanks again! I shall look into that web site you own!
