Strange characters instead of Table Of Contents

My Word 2003 displays the following in place of the Table of Contents:



{TOC \o "2-3" \h \z \t "Header 1,1"}



When I click Print Preview I'm able to see the correct TOC. So it's a
display issue, but I have no idea how to fix it.



Please help.

You have field codes displayed. Press ALT+F9 to hide them and
redisplay field results.

You are seeing the TOC field code. Press Alt+F9 to toggle the display back
to field results.
