Strange characters on Outlook Today

These appears Î@ or cri or <I or ÿÿÿ on Outlook Today
about midway down the page next to the Outlook Shortcuts
bar on the left side of Outlook Today. These are just
examples, sometimes other characters appear then disappear
then appear as I click diffferent shortcuts.

Have you tried changing the 'style' (Outlook Today -
Customize Outlook Today in upper right corner) to see if
the other 'styles' have the same problem? I'd try
flipping it back and forth and see if it goes away. Also
try right clicking Outlook Today - Properties - Home Page
tab - reset defaults?
