I am receiving very strange data back on a mail merge from Excel 2003 to Word
2002.
I have an excel sheet that is used as a "database" for club member data.
One of the members has a blank address (where there used to be an entry) and
one has a Zip code entry that is a Canadian Postal Code rather than a US zip
code. The columns are formatted as text, so it shouldn't make a difference,
I believe.
I am merging specific cells to a word 2002 document to create a club
directory. When I do the merge, the address that should be blank is actually
showing up as the member's former address (which has been cleared from the
cell and the file saved), and the Canadian postal code shows up as "0"
instead of the code in the cell. I am merging using DDE.
This process used to work when I was using Excel 97 & Word 2002, but the
spreadsheet is maintained by a user who has upgraded from Excel 97 to 2003,
and is e-mailed to me to do the rest of the work. We have tried saving the
2003 spreadsheet as a 97 file, but that hasn't helped.
Is there an MVP who can help with this???
