Recently I begin experiencing some very strange errors with our PWA 2003
application that is running on a Windows 2003 Server.
Background:
We have been successfully been using PWA 2003 SP1 for several months along
with OLAP functionality and Sharepoint services. Last week I was
experimenting with the extended OLAP cubes for 'Earned Value'. I applied
the 2 .sql file changes to the ProjectServer database and registred the
custom .dll and modified the QYLIBSQL.SQL file. I ran into problems with
the cubes being built. I kept getting a sql error that 'TaskUniqueID' not
found. I needed to get the cubes to build, so I rolled back all changes
except the table changes to the database. I unregistered the .dll. Next I
re-booted the server and this is when I ran into major problems with PWA.
There were pending 'Windows Updates' that were applied and I suspect these
might be the culprit and not the OLAP stuff.
Now when I or any team member access PWA we get very strange errors.
- Home page appears fine
- Task page fails and the user if redirected back to the home page
- Projects page shows no projects and again the user is redirected back to
the home page
- Resources pages shows an error message "An error has occured while trying
to access the resources stored in the database. Either there are too many
resources, or the Project Server may not have the correct DSN configuration.
Contact the server administrator"
- Updates page shows the following error "A runtime error has occured. Do
you want to debug? Line: 1767 Error: 'RecordCount' is null or not an
object"
Some database activity is being retrieved since the home page shows the
number of updates pending or tasks assigned. I also have a test server and
can connect to the same database and everything work fine from this test PWA
server.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled Project Server and this has not resolved
this problem.
If anyone has thoughts or suggestions on how to resolve this, I would be
gratefull
Thanks
