Strange font problem when replying to emails

Hi all, hope someone can help.

We run an Exchange 5.5 / Outlook 2000 system with 100+ users.

Two have reported the following problem though there may be others who
have just ignored it (you know what users can be like :))

An email is sent (sometimes replied or forwarded) and before sending
all looks fine, however when the recipient views it or it is looked at
in sent items some of the text will have had a font size change.

We use HTML format and do not use Word to edit.

When viewing the source the affected text has been wrapped with the
following tags:

<DIV><FONT face=Arial><FONT size=2><FONT size=+0><SPAN
class=449305411-17122003>

This happens randomly and can never be reproduced by us (the IT
support team).

Does anyone have any suggestions?

TIA
