Strange icon on screen

Hi,

My Director has asked me to help him remove an icon that appears in his
version of MS Outlook 2000 (he doesn't know how it appeared!).

The icon lies just above the "Subject", "Size", "Received", etc, headings
just above the list of E-mails that have came in.

It is in a box and says "Group data by field" (I think) - and basically what
happens is that he can drag one of the headings (e.g. "Received"), and it
groups all the messages under that heading (i.e. all messages received on the
same day are then grouped by the day they were received, with a little grey
bar for each revelant day which can be collapsed by clicking on the "-" at
the side).

How did this appear, and how can it be removed?

Many Thanks for any assistance,

Gary T
