I've been able to replicate this bug pretty consistently.
In Design mode, I had a table containing several checkbox controls. I
created another table above it with a different layout and I'm moving
the checkboxes from one table to the other.
Every time I drag one from the lower table, Infopath bombs. It seems to
happen only if the cell's contents are highlighted (as opposed to just
the checkbox; the checkbox looks "bevelled"), and the tooltip displaying
the control name is shown.
