Hi,
Recently, something got corrupted on my main HD. I still had the original HD
in my PC, but disconnected. Since I added the new larger DH less than a year
ago and copied all the data to it, I switched HDs and ran the PC from the old
HD (now C) and have the newer HD installed as slave (D).
Everything, incl Outlook and Outlook Express worked fine, although I missed
the later E-mails and changes in Outlook Contacs since the HD addition
earlier this year.
Since they are in updated form on the slave HD, I tried to Import the
Outlook data, using the Wizard from the D to the C drive.
I must have done something wrong, since after that all contacts were gone!
I was using Outlook Express for E-mail and lost all E-mail as well.
I managed to restore Outlook Express E-mail by copying the folder
Windows\Application data\Microsoft\Outlook Express from D to C drive.
I compared the subfolders under the Windows\Application
data\Microsoft\Outlook
between C and D drive and they have the exact same file names and file size.
Copying them from D to C would not induce any change.
If they are the same why would Outlook not show them running on C-drive?
Thanks for your insights and help,
