I have a very strange problem with the login at Project Server 2003 using MS
Project. We are using windows authentication.
Some users can't log on the server when they want to start MS Project. The
error message says:
"You are not authorized to view this page
You do not have permission to view this directory or page using the
credentials that you supplied because your Web browser is sending a
WWW-thenticate header field that the web server is not configured to accept."
This users also have to logon twice when they use PWA, first they use the
logon with their windows authentication and then a window appears where they
have to logon on the machine where the Project Server is instaled (we have a
single machine instalation).
The absolut strange thing is, that this users that have problems now could
logon (on both Project and PWA) without problems the first time they used the
server. But the next time they wanted to logon the problems started.
I checked the settings of IE, the sever is in the list of trusted sites and
there are no custom toolbars and the toolbar discuss is not used.
The probelm is connected to the user account, since it appears no matter
which computer they use and users that have no problems can logon on machines
of people that have the problems.
Another thing is, that as soon as a user is local adminstrator on the
machine where the project server is instaled, everything is fine, but we
can't give anyone the local adminstrator rights...
There are users that have this problems and there are some that don't have
any problem. But I can't see a difference between them, they all belong to
the same domain.
At the moment we are running a 120 days trial version of the server, which
is not the newest version. Could this be the reason for the problems?
Did anyone have similar problems and could help me? That would be really
great!!
