Using outlook2003, I am seeing a strange thing with one user. A little
backround to the issue as I believe it is relivant. Initially the user did
not have his contacts listed under his mailbox, they showed under his Journal
and for whatever reason could not be moved. Opening outlook with a
/ResetFolders switch recreated the correct contacts folder and we could then
move the contacts listed under Journal to the proper contacts folder and then
deleted the contacts folder under journal.
Now the issue is this user before we did this and now has his contacts
shared so that another user can enter entries and such for him. Within her
outlook2003, she has it set so when she opens outlook it also opens the
contacts, calendar, and other folders of the shared mailboxes she has. She
was entering new contacts ok but the main user noticed they did not show up
under his contacts in his outlook. Looking at contacts on on her pc under my
contacts it shows the main users contacts (ones that are not updated) and
other Other contacts it shows his contacts and well (these have the entries
she recently entered).
For whatever reason it looks like the link was broken or the entries where
getting entered in this phanton contacts folder that does not exist. Closing
the contacts folder she had opened, then opening the correct contacts folder
under his mailbox in the folder list, then closed her outlook and reopened.
It now opens the correct contacts folder on his mailbox but still not sure
what happened to cause the issue.
Any ideas? Because it seems as if it lists then as two seperate contacts but
not? Thanks.
