STS - Linking a document to a task

Roxanne

I have a resource that is not able to link a document to a
task via their Timesheet. I think I have determined one
possible portion of the WHY but I haven't figured out all
of it. This resource was recently added to the Resource
Pool and subsequently the project plan and assigned to
tasks. Her tasks were published to her and she can see
the tasks on her timesheet. However, when I look at the
sub-web associated with this project on STS, she is not
shown as a user. This would make sense as to why she
cannot link a document to a task for this project.

Do anyone have any ideas about why her ID did not get
added to the sub web once she was assigned to the project
and a task? I hope I missed a step...

Thanks in advance,
Roxanne

Hey Roxanne,

Not sure of why the resource did not get permission within the subweb.
Was the resource a member of the project plan when it was first created and
published to the server? That's generally when the accounts get pushed
over to the actual subweb. This get's a little nasty, because we are really
dealing with two seperate products, the only cool thing is they sometimes
work together :)

One thing you may try is to Resync the accounts for the subweb. This can
be found in the Admin page of Project Web Access > Manage SharePoint
Team Services > and something like Manager Sites or Subwebs. You should
have an option to sync accounts. That might get the user populated within
the subweb permissions. If not, you'll need to manually add the resource.

Hope that helps,

Hi Matt -

Nope. I think that is what caused the problem. She was
not part of the project when the plan was first created
and published. Thanks for the re-sync option. Will let
you know how that works.

Hi Matt -

The sync'ing did not work but creating her account within
the sub web did. Thanks for taking the time to assist.
