does the new home and student edition of office 2007 allow for it to be used
on up to three machines, as the Office 2003 student edition does?

Hi Sykeel,

At least in the U.S., yes and there isn't a requirement, as I understand it for there to be a student in the home. The significant
change is that Office 2007 Home and Student edition no longer contains Outlook but now includes OneNote.

Thanks Bob - that's great news; I'll go ahead and place my order as I
actually have and use three machines. Yes, it's a pity about the actual
content of the suite. I'm actually a heavy OneNote user so its inclusion is
good news but, like many home users, I also use Outlook and I simply don't
understand Microsoft's logic in excluding this from a home/student package.
Now, I'll have to buy Outlook 2007 separately. But maybe that was what MS
were hoping people like me, who can ill afford it, would have to do.
