Stump the pro's

Using Front Page 2000. When using File-Open or clicking
on the File-Open icon, I get the error that FP.exe has
caused a GPF in Module (unknown) at 0000.5059623. Am able
to edit or open pages by double clicking on them, but not
by the file-open method. Any solutions/help appreciated.

TIA

Did you run the repair procedure??

FrontPage Toolbar > Help > Detect and Repair.

I have seen this before.

I think it has to do with the "open" or "save as" box looking at the
metatags in the files in that folder. Sometimes you can change around the
metatags and find out what file it is.

So far it has only been Windows XP that shows the problem.

Reinstalling FrontPage probably wont fix it, as the problem appears to be
the web dav ("Web Folders" in Microsoft-speak) on the OS that is damaged.

Reinstalling the operating system would work, but that's a lot to do for
something that has an easy work around.

Web dav is not an Operating System component.
It is an IIS and Internet Explorer component,
accessed by using IE to access a web dav enabled
web site via My Network Places.
It has nothing to do with the problem posted.
The cure should be FrontPage "detect and repair."

Yes,that has been done, still same problem. Uninstall,
reinstall no help, Win 2K, FP 2000, 256M Ram, 60G hd, 45G
free.

Anything else?

With FrontPage shut down, have you done a search for files:
*.web and *.tmp and deleted all found??
