Style conversion in Word XP

Hello, everyone. I have encountered a problem in Word XP when I tried to
convert some paragraph in heading 1 to normal in that the bolding feature got
reversed. I mean I had some bold text in heading 1 and it was reversed in
normal style after the conversion. Can someone give me some suggestions?

Bold is a toggle attribute. The Heading 1 style is normally set to bold. If
you select text in that style and set it to not bold, it will reverse when
you change the underlying paragraph style. You might want to look at
