Style 'Percent' not found.

I get that error message when I click on the percent symbol on the toolbar
to set the format of cells. Anyone know what to do about it?

This happens when you don't have a style named Percent in the active
workbook. The only named style Excel insists on is Normal. You (or
someone else) may delete all the other named styles, including
Percent. You'd need to add a style named Percent in order to use the %
key on the formatting toolbar.

Just to add to Harlan's response...

Styles live in workbooks.

If you haven't made a change to the Percent style in a default workbook (like
book.xlt stored in your XLStart folder), you can try this:

Start a new workbook (not an existing workbook)
Open the workbook with the problem
Make sure the problem workbook is active

Format|style|click the merge button
Point at that new workbook (book1, maybe???)

Then finish up that dialog, close the new workbook and test out the Percent
button.
