I have a data base used on a small network. There is an
AUTOEXEC Macro that brings up a menu when you first enter
the data base. All of a sudden a couple days ago, the
form that one of the menu selections should bring up will
no longer display. When you make that menu selection,
nothing happens - you just go right back to the menu.
When I try to open that form in design view, I get the
message "Unrecognized database format" followed by the
path to the data base. I have tried overwriting the form
from a recent back-up of the data base but I get the
message "The Microsoft Jet database engine stopped the
process because you and another user are attempting to
change the same data at the same time." I get the same
message when I try to delete or rename that form. I have
made absolutely certain that I am the only user on the
data base but I still get that message. I have tried
restarting my computer, restarting the server whose disk
the data base resides on, and reinstalling Access. I
have run "Repair" several times. I have tried to
run "Compact" but it won't run because it says the
database is already in use. I have a recent back-up so I
can restore that form if only it will let me get the
messed up version out of there. Any help would be
appreciated. Thank you.
